Lil Wayne is about 40+ days away from being released from prison and 5 days til his bday. It seems that "I'm Not A Human Being" will no longer be a EP but now a LP and released digitally on September 27th (his birthday). I'm a few days late but here is the latest of the GOOD Friday series titled "Lord, Lord, Lord". Another big collaboration record with verses from Raekwon, Mos Def and Swizzy with Charlie Wilson on the hook. For the hip hop heads who recognize this beat, it seems this beat was used before or possibly resampled. Nas has a track on QB's Finest track titled "Find Your Wealth" with the similar beat. Nonetheless, It's a decent record and Ye' goes off lyrically once again.
Today, the net was going crazy about a video of Jim Jones and Cam'ron in the studio playing a new freestyle. The freestyle was on Kanye's "Runaway" beat and Cam'ron decides to get disrespect toward his former label mate. The funny thing is a few months back Cam'ron was on Ustream supporting Kanye and talking about reaching out for production for future projects. I guess Jimmy and Cam still hold a grudge to Ye' and Hov on the behalf of their long time friend Dame Dash. Well below you can check out the video clip and download the freestyle. This is a performance video of Big Sean's "5 On It" featuring Chip The Ripper, which was performed at Michigan State University. The original track that is on Big Sean's "Finally Famous Vol.3" mixtape also features Curren$y Spitta but he was not in the video. This track is definitely one of my favorite records off the mixtape.
Last week Thursday "Home and Home Concert" took place at Comerica Park in Detroit but last night was the highly anticipated concert date as Jay-z & Eminem took the show to Yankees Stadium. Eminem and Jay-z both brought out a high profile cast of artists such as 50 cent, Dr Dre, Drake, Kanye, Nicki Minaj and many more. Kanye West is shutting down the music game for the last half of the year. He performed/closed out MTV VMA's last night and the song he performed was not one of his crazy G.O.O.D Friday releases but something brand new. The performance was definitely incredible but another highlight was Pusha T comes in on the third verse of the performance. "Runaway" is supposedly to be on Ye' upcoming album but most importantly Pusha T solidifying his alliance with G.O.O.D Music. Another Good Friday release by Kanye and ironically the title of this release is "Good Friday". This is another star-studded collaboration with Common, Big Sean,Pusha T laying verses and Cudi on the hook with Charlie Wilson handling additional vocals. I just advise you to go download this asap.
Wiz Khalifa drops another visual directed by Bill Paldino for his verse over the Geto Boys "Damn It Feels Good To Be a Gangsta". Classic song/beat especially if you seen the movie "Office Space". The video is typical Wiz & Taylor Gang activities with a lot of smoke in the air.
Gucci X Swizz Beatz come together to make a record titled "Gucci Time". As many people love Gucci, they are people who dont really like him. No matter what Gucci is grinding and solidifying his spot in the rap game. This is decent track as Swizz will always deliver with the production. Check out the video and let us know what you think.
Kanye's newest G.O.O.D Friday release is more subtle then the last two which had monster collaborations. "Devil In A New Dress" has a nice soulful sample but still has the super lyrical Kanye lacing the track. All I have to say is Kanye is giving us fans greater anticipation for his album "Dark Twisted Fantasy".
Araab Muzik dipset's own in house producer straight out of Providence, Rhode Island puts on a show for Busta Rhymes, Jerry Wonder and company. If you havent watched this dude go crazy on a MPC via Worldstar before I suggest you just watch this video. He is a certified problem and making big moves in the game. Ed Lover has been winning with this C'Mon Son series. He has people regular or famous saying C'Mon Son with a bum billboard sign, T-shirts, and his own intro theme song. I had to post this one specifically because Funeral Fab makes a guest appearance and definitely puts #brianpumperjewels to rest. This is definitely hilarious go check it out.
Even though the classic colorways have been continuously retro'ed in the past few years heavy, I had to post this because these are a personal favorite. I remember copping my first pair of Air Max 95's and this was the colorway. They are currently out now at select retailers at the price of $145.
Cee-Lo Green is making a resurgence into the mainstream not only with his features ("Tears of Joy" with Rick Ross) but also with this new single "F*ck You". I always thought Cee-Lo had a unique voice back when Goodie Mob was heavy on the scene. This is the first single off his upcoming album "Lady Killer". The song was said to have been written by Bruno Mars (singer on "Nothin on You"). Check out the video and let us know what you think.
Not gonna say too much but Fab paid a visit to Funk Flex on Hot 97 earlier in the night. Flex played two instrumentals and Fab dropped some serious bars which is something he hasn't done in a minute. I advise you to watch this video because its straight #HEAT.
