So I actually found this to be kind of off the wall but supposedly these dunks are made in honor of Heaven's Gate. If some of you are too young to remember Heaven's Gate, they were a cult from California that off-ed themselves by suicide through some type of poisoning. When the 38 bodies were found, they were all wearing black outfits with Nikes on. According to soleredemption.com, Nike dismisses the creation of these dunks. But the color is still fire with what appears to be suede and leather.
