Well, its Good Friday and we have another big collaborative release from Mr. West. "So Appalled" was something actually circulating around the net earlier this year which was rumored to appear on Diddy's "Last Train To Paris". Now that we have the song mastered and a all-star cast laying down verses for the track, its officially a PROBLEM. Not to mention Kanye giving shine to his newly signed artist Cyhi Da Prince who he once gave a simple co-sign is now a G.O.O.D Music artist. Please have a good friday and listen to the new GOOD Friday release.

Kanye West is bringing us "G.O.O.D Friday" every single friday with exclusive releases. Last friday was that crazy "Power" Remix now this Friday we have "Monster". A star-studded collaboration with Jay-z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj and indie rock band Bon Iver. This record is supposedly one of the tracks on the 5 song album Kanye West and Jay-z are making called "Watch The Throne". I'm not going into detail but this is a MONSTER record so go listen RIGHT NOW.
Kanye is really trying to turn it up for the last half of the year and beyond. This "Power" remix is proving that not only is he going hard lyrically, going hard on the production but he is bringing back the old style of really REMIXING a record. The collaboration efforts and the powerful lyrics are showing how much Kanye is really coming back to put a choke-hold on the rap game. By the way, Swizz Beatz definitely spazzed by sampling Snaps "I got the power" for the beat change up. I am in anticipation for what Yeezy has up his sleeve for his upcoming album "Dark Twisted Fantasy".
Few weeks back we brought you a clip of the Absolut Vodka and Jay-z collaboration documentary called "NY-Z". Now the 14 minute documentary is officially released. I'm watching it currently as I write this post. So watch it and leave some comments or feedback.
Absolut Vodka released a trailer to the NY-Z Jay-z documentary which is behind-the-scenes footage of Jay-z leading up to the concert at Madison Square Garden for the Blueprint 3 tour. Photographer Danny Clinch captured all the intriguing footage for the documentary. The concert just passed but the documentary will be released March 22nd.
An interview/documentary done by Swedish Television takes a look at the origin of Jay-z's hit record "Hard Knock Life". They talk to Jay-z as well as producer of the record DJ Mark aka the 45 King. The 45 King is from Bronx NY and sparodically created classic beats such as DJ Kool's "Let Me Clear My Throat" and Eminems "Stan". Watch the clip and check out the 28 minute documentary on Jay-z's Hard Knock Life single.
If you didnt see the world premiere on NBC after the ball drop New Years eve, Jay-z finally releases the video for "On to the Next One". The video is definitely artistic but most people would say it's weird contributing to the Illuminati rumors. Regardless of how you feel he definitely broke into greatness dropping the first video of the New Year on NBC.
Seems like these Robin Thicke singles dropping by the minute. Robin Thicke puts out a more uptempo single called "Meiple" featuring Jay-z. The track is decent and Hov definitely kills this beat. Click the link to preview and download this song.
If you don't know already, Beanie Sigel is taking shots and voicing his displeasure with Jay-z. Seems that Beans is letting the people know whats really going on and decides to air out Hov through song. Please listen to the song and interview to get the full perspective. You can also watch Jay-z's response in a interview in Montreal.
This is the footage of the creative process of making the "Blueprint 3" cover. The London based photographer Dan Tobin Smith was the visionary who made a previous artwork called "The Letter E" which inspired this artwork for this Blueprint album cover.
Here is an excerpt of the interview with Dan Tobin Smith about the Blueprint 3 cover from Itsnicethat and the photo of "The Letter E":
Greg Burke, the creative director on the project at Atlantic records had seen the Letter ‘E’ I had shot with the set designer Nicola Yeoman and I guess he had it in the back of his mind when he was thinking of ideas for Jay Z’s new artwork for Blueprint 3. I think Greg and Jay Z had lots of ideas about what the album meant and it seemed to be about taking it back to the source, in terms of the music itself and then subsequently the artwork. For the album and the idea was it was very much about the music and all the things that make music. The 3 is represented by 3 bars which is of course the old way of writing ‘3’ so that seemed to work really nicely with the idea behind the album and the set design that evolved. We all liked the idea that the installation was almost machine like, like all these things were interlinked. That’s why everything is packed and jumbled together. Like it had kind of grown out of this corner.
I think it was a brave approach for Jay Z as all his previous albums have had him on them. I love still life, and the way I shoot is quite old school. It took 3 days to shoot, was all shot on 10×8 inch film, so the quality in the whites is fantastic, so much subtle tone. We worked long and hard on the colour work on the post and even in a single page mag advert I can see that effort. You could blow the image up to the size of a building and it would still hold up. It seems the album is about that old school crafted production so its nice that that same method went into the shoot.
I know everyone probably seen it last night and watched it a millions times today but we had to post this one. The performance was crazy. It made you really proud to be from the greatest city in the world NEW YORK CITY but it was also hilarious to see lil mama catch holy ghost and just jump on stage like she was part of the show. Even more hilarious was the #lilmamis trending topic on twitter, and the photoshop pictures of her circulating on the web. I wish we could get Jay-z's reaction after he got off stage.
I know you seen or heard a million interviews both radio and TV in the past few weeks with Jay-z. This particular special on BET was interesting. He was interviewed by Harry Allen, Stephen A. Smith, and Angie Martinez in a restaurant setting. They touch on basically everything about Jay-z's life. Great special watch and enjoy.
So if you have twitter and you follow @myfabolouslife (Fabolous) you already know that T-Pain disrespected Jay-z and his song D.O.A months after the song had been released. It was a sucker move but I guess somebody has to throw rocks at the throne. This is the infamous video of him openly dissing Hov at a big event in Las Vegas.
"The Blueprint 3" is almost here so of course their is a lot of Jay-z promo circulating. This has to be the illest commercial out right now as it recreates the snapshots of every Jay-Z album cover. Watch it and tell us what you think.
All I can say is sit down and really watch this great interview. Jay-z is one of the few living legends in our time and this great interview peeks into the mind of this legend.
It's safe to say that all the tracks by Timbaland have been leaked from the "Blueprint 3". The lastest song "Venus Vs. Mars" has to be the best overrall out of three leak tracks so far. The production is solid and the lyrical rhyme scheme is crazy. It's looking like Jay-z got another crazy album on his hands. Listen to the track and tell us what you think.
Another timbaland produced track from Hov's "Blueprint 3" is circulating around the web. "Reminder" is definitely a track that will be on repeat when the album drops. He spits three verses about who he is and what he has done in this game for years. No more I can say about this track, just listen and if you hating Jay-z about being to old to rap then maybe you need a reminder.
